This Privacy Policy describes how the NYC Teen Resume Challenge (“We,” “Us,” or “Our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit, register for, or participate in the NYC Teen Resume Challenge (the “Service”).

- Eligibility Information: Your age, school, grade level, and New York City borough of residence (to confirm eligibility as a teen 19 years old and younger residing in NYC).
- Parental/Guardian Consent Form: A signed consent form from a parent or legal guardian is a mandatory requirement for eligibility and participation in the Challenge.-
- Contest Submission Data: The resumes and other documents you submit as part of the competition.
- Communications: Records and copies of your correspondence with us (e.g., emails).
B. Information We Collect Automatically
As you navigate through the Service, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:
- Usage Details: Information about your use of the website, such as traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data.

- Legal Requirements: To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
- Contest Judging: Resumes are reviewed by a panel of professional judges. As stated in the contest rules, submissions are anonymized using assigned participant numbers prior to the initial judging round.
4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA and Minors)
The NYC Teen Resume Challenge is specifically directed at teens 19 years old and younger who are New York City high school students.
- Teens Under 13: If you are under the age of 13, you must have the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian to register and participate in the Challenge. We strongly encourage a parent or guardian to review and submit the registration on behalf of any participant under 13. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our records.
- Teens Under 18: We encourage all teens under the age of 18 to review this Privacy Policy with their parent or guardian to ensure they understand their rights and our data collection practices.
5. Security
We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Service.
